Day 2 focused around grade-level outdoor lessons. The fifth grade spent time at the animal farm, where they met the chickens, goats, and reptiles at C.S. They also took part in an eco-lesson on how water pollutants can affect the wildlife. With their counselor, Chelsea, they searched for water-based insects to see where they fell on a scale of pollutant-resistance. We were happy to see that the insects were living in healthy, clean water sources at the outdoor school. Lastly, they tested their skills at shelter building. The day culminated in a bonfire where we enjoyed songs, skits, and even a little humor at the teachers' expenses!
